We live
in a world where everyone is busy, and everyone has a diary. To be successful,
you not only have to manage your diary but also try not to offend people so if
you need them in future they are as accommodating and honest as you are with
them.
There are
few things successful people do:
- Don't give away their diaries to their assistants, you as a person know when you are free and what is important to you. Your assistant (if you have one) cannot organise your life otherwise he/she is better than you are!
- They are proactive towards meetings, if a meeting is not suitable for them, they ask it to be changed to the time suits them. If you don't do that, people will be adding meetings in your diaries at random times, which can be 7pm in the evening.
- They politely either ask their peers/sub-ordinates to attend the meeting they do not need to, that way they can find out what is the outcome of the meeting without being there.
- If they feel there is no need to have a meeting and something can be discussed in 5 min face to face, they rather do that and save time.
Doing all
above will help you organise your life at work and home, if you are recommending
times than world around you Is moving they way you want it to be.
Successful
people are normally strict with their routine, e.g. Daily gym, morning routine
and what they should be eating. To be successful, you need to own what's
happening to your life.
